What do you do in your free time?
We asked three students how they spend their free time.
Richard I don’t have a lot of free time in the week because I work in my parents’ shop after school. I spend most of the time putting things on shelves. Then, I go upstairs to our flat and do my homework. I always have the radio on while I’m working. The music helps me concentrate. When I have finished my homework, I play with my school friends in the park or I read if I have got a good book about space from the school library. I’m not on social media.
Harry When I get home from school, I help my parents on their farm. There’s always lots to do with the animals. I like feeding them, so I think it’s part of my free time! After the farm work, I usually just do my homework and go to bed. If I don’t have any homework, I watch television in my bedroom. I have a laptop for school, but we can’t get the internet on our farm. At the weekend, there are more jobs to do around the farm, but my parents won’t let me work at all on Sunday, so I get up late, then I go and meet my school friends. Then we fish in the river on our farm, but we never catch anything!
Michael My home is a long way from the school. I travel by train and it takes about 45 minutes, so I have lots of time to do my homework. When I get home, I’m free to play in the garden with my brother or go on my laptop. There’s always something funny to read or watch on one of the social media sites. I sometimes get bored at the weekends because none of my school friends live near me. But my father always takes me and my brother out on Sunday afternoon. Sometimes we go to the river and Dad fishes while Peter and I go swimming. |
