Our Story

The journey to build the best AI grading tools

With extensive experience in the assessment industry and in Natural Language Processing (NLP), we recognised the potential that AI has to transform the grading process in education. This lead to starting Gradingly with the aim to building responsible AI models to automate grading.

Early on we partnered with various Learning Management Systems (LMS) providers who were keen to automate grading and introduce an additional layer of feedback that was previously unavailable. These partnerships were pivotal, as they allowed us to refine our technology and adapt it to real-world use cases.

To further test and perfect our AI grading capabilities, we developed our own AI-enabled LMS platform. This platform served as a proving ground for our AI grading solutions, handling everything from short answer grading to providing detailed AI-generated feedback and AI grading of sentences including longer-form texts.

Beyond grading, our AI-enabled LMS also has the capability to generate learning content including generation of text, images and audio materials. The AI-generated content is relevant and tailored to specific educational goals. Combined with AI grading this can enable true personalised learning in the future.

Today, Gradingly is focused on expanding the integration of AI grading models that are ethical, transparent and fair. To achieve this, we collaborate closely with our clients to carefully select and utilise training datasets, ensuring our solutions not only meet but exceed performance standards.

We are proud to work closely with governmental organisations and Universities, integrating our AI grading tools to streamline their marking processes and realise significant reductions in marking costs.
